Masks Not Currently Required
In alignment with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the Minnesota Department of Health, and Minnesota State, masks are no longer required on campus. Choosing whether or not to wear a mask is an individual decision, and those who are immunocompromised or at high-risk for serious illness. This mask policy may change if the community level shifts into the “high” category, or in the case of new guidance from the CDC, MDH, or the Minnesota State System Office. In some cases, individuals will be directed to wear a mask on campus for a period of time if they are ending isolation after a case of COVID-19 or have been recently exposed to COVID-19.
Testing
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommends that anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should get tested, whether or not they are vaccinated. Those exposed to someone with COVID-19 should also test at least 5 days after exposure.
Anoka Tech offers on-site PCR and antigen testing in cases of on-campus exposure to COVID-19. We can test you on campus to ensure you were not affected by appointment. If you would like to test with us at Anoka Technical College, please contact publichealth@anokatech.edu to arrange a time.

If You Test Positive for COVID-19
If you test positive for COVID-19, please email the college’s public health inbox publichealth@anokatech.edu to receive up to date recommendations for returning to campus. Students and employees who are NOT in nursing or allied health programs that test positive for Covid-19 should isolate until you are fever-free without fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours and their symptoms have been improving for 24 hours.
If You Were Exposed To Someone With COVID-19
Please e-mail publichealth@anokatech.edu the details of your exposure situation such as the date(s) you were exposed, if you live with or are in constant contact with a COVID-19 positive person, and if you have any symptoms currently. Persons with a known exposure DO NOT need to stay home UNLESS symptoms develop, or you test positive for COVID-19.
Vaccination
COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are not currently required for employees or students, though some students may be required by external entities to be vaccinated and/or boosted (e.g. clinical sites). All employees and students are highly encouraged to complete the COVID-19 vaccination series as soon as possible, including booster doses when eligible.
Staying up-to-date on all COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters remains the best precaution we have against severe illness, hospitalization and death due to COVID-19, as well as providing some protection against virus transmission and variant spread. Unvaccinated individuals are significantly more likely to experience severe COVID-19 or hospitalization. Vaccinated individuals are less likely to become infected with COVID-19, protecting high-risk people around them.
