Policy 2.1: Assessment
Anoka Technical College is committed to a policy of assessment for continuous quality improvement. The purpose of this assessment policy is to improve the various operations and functions of the College. These include, but are not limited to, assessment for College readiness and assessment for improvement of curriculum, instruction, student support services, and operations.
PRINCIPLES OF ASSESSMENT
- Program and classroom assessment will be faculty-driven and supported at all levels of the College.
- The assessment program will utilize current assessment activities as a foundation for future activities.
- The assessment plan will be consistent with and supportive of ATC’s mission and its strategic plan.
- The ultimate purpose of assessment is to improve student learning.
Assessment is based on continuous improvement and will be used for academic and budget planning. The Assessment Committee at Anoka Technical College has identified the following three general education competencies to be included and formally assessed in every diploma and A.A.S degree.
All degreed students will be able to: Communicate effectively. Problem solve (critically think).
Interact in complex, dynamic environments.
